Erasmus+ “Culture Creators and Carriers” | Final Mobility Report: October 24–30, 2024

The Erasmus+ project “Culture Creators and Carriers” reached its powerful conclusion in Samsun, Türkiye, from October 24 to 30, 2024. This final mobility brought together students and educators from Greece, Spain, and Italy for one last shared journey of cultural discovery, connection, and celebration.

Samsun, located along Türkiye’s Black Sea coast, offered an inspiring backdrop for wrapping up the project. Known for its rich history and dynamic cultural life, the city welcomed all partners with warmth and generosity, perfectly capturing the essence of the Erasmus+ experience.

Day-by-Day Highlights

October 25 — Welcoming and Introduction to Turkish Heritage
The week opened with a heartfelt welcome and an in-depth presentation of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) elements in Türkiye. Ice-breaking activities helped participants reconnect, setting the tone for a week full of reflection, creativity, and collaboration.

October 26 — Amasya: Tradition in Every Corner
A cultural visit to Amasya, with its Ottoman-era houses and deep-rooted folklore, highlighted the way tradition shapes everyday life in Türkiye. Students explored historical sites and local customs, gaining a deeper understanding of how heritage is preserved at the community level.

October 27 — Craftsmanship and Celebration
A city tour and cultural workshops at the Turkish Cultural Heritage Institute gave students hands-on experience in traditional Turkish crafts. That evening, the group celebrated together at a joyful Turkish Night, filled with music, dance, and authentic cuisine—an unforgettable tribute to cultural diversity.

October 28 — Nature and Urban Identity
Participants explored Atakum, a coastal district where modern urban life blends with nature and cultural pride. The visit allowed space for conversation and reflection in a relaxed, scenic setting—an ideal environment to discuss what students had learned and how they would carry it forward.

October 29 — Conclusion and Farewell
The final day of the final mobility featured a choral performance by teachers, a certificate ceremony, and a moving farewell party. Emotions ran high as students and teachers looked back on their shared journey—four countries, four cultures, and countless moments of understanding and friendship.

A Meaningful Ending, A Lasting Beginning

Samsun marked not just the end of a project, but the beginning of a lifelong connection to heritage, cooperation, and European solidarity. The bonds formed throughout the mobilities, the knowledge gained, and the cultures explored will remain with participants long after they return home.
