Over 18 months of collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange, the Culture Creators and Carriers (3C) project brought together students, teachers, and communities from Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Greece. Through this Erasmus+ partnership, we explored how Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) can be preserved, understood, and passed on — especially through the power of education.
What We Achieved
✔ Increased Cultural Awareness
Students and teachers gained deep knowledge about the traditions, customs, and practices that form the unique identity of each partner country. From folk dances to festivals, from craftsmanship to oral traditions — these elements became alive in our classrooms and communities.
✔ Development of Cross-Cultural Respect
Participants learned to appreciate and respect cultural differences. Through mobility activities and workshops, they discovered the richness of other heritages and saw how diversity strengthens unity.
✔ Integration of ICH into Education
Teachers were trained and inspired to include cultural heritage in their teaching practices. Lesson plans, workshops, and seminars helped connect ICH with subjects like history, geography, language, literature, and arts.
✔ Empowered Youth as Cultural Bearers
Young people became active transmitters of their own heritage. Through their presentations, performances, and creative outputs, they helped ensure the continuity of living traditions.
✔ Community Engagement
Families and local communities were involved in hosting, sharing traditions, and attending project events. This opened up intergenerational dialogue and broadened awareness beyond the school walls.
Tangible Results
Project Presentations
Each mobility included student- and teacher-led presentations on:
- The Concept and Significance of ICH (Spain 🇪🇸)
- Safeguarding of ICH (Turkey 🇹🇷)
- Respecting Cultural Diversity (Italy 🇮🇹)
- Transmission through Education (Greece 🇬🇷)
Visual Documentation
Photos, videos, and creative materials were produced during each exchange and are available on the individual mobility pages.
E-Book & Digital Magazine
A final publication collects insights, stories, and highlights from all project activities — serving as a lasting record and resource for schools across Europe.
Cultural Carrier Guide
Produced during the Turkey mobility, this guide highlights methods and values for preserving local traditions and customs.
Lesson Plans & Teaching Tools
Partners created thematic lesson materials that integrate ICH into various disciplines, which can be shared and adapted across schools. Two samples of the lesson plans produced during the meeting in Greece.
A Legacy That Lives On
The 3C project may officially ended in 2025, but its impact will continue:
- Teaching materials and outputs will remain accessible to educators and students.
- Our schools will carry forward the knowledge gained into new projects and curricula.
- The friendships and cultural connections we’ve built will outlast the borders and the timelines.
Together, we didn’t just talk about culture — we lived it, shared it, and carried it forward.
